What’s your favorite Pennsville school tradition or event?
My favorite school event has been whatever puts a smile on the students' faces. Over the years, there have been many which includes but not limited to: Field Day, AR trip, Grandparents Day, Colonial Day, School Concerts, or just having someone special come into read to the class.
Where did you grow up or go to school?
I graduated high school from Salem High School in 1978. Graduated from Rowan University with a BS Degree in Teacher of the Handicapped and then received my Masters of Reading Literacy from Capella University.
Tell us about your family (pets included)
I married my high school sweetheart. We will be married for 45 years next May. We have two wonderful and beautiful daughters who have married men that I am proud to call my son in-laws. I have 3 funny and talented grandsons. Hudson 13, Wyatt 12 and Parker 7, who just fill my heart.
What do you like to do when you’re not at school?
My favorite non school activity is being with my kids and grandkids, especially "glamping" in the summer months in Lancaster PA.
What’s a hobby or talent most people don’t know about you?
Well, I have a lot of wannabe talents. Maybe I will pursue more of them when I retire. I am involved with an organization called Soldier Angels that help support our active duty military and veterans.
Favorite book, movie, or TV show?
That's a hard one, but the show that really has made me laugh over the years is Everybody Loves Raymond. It's very relatable to daily life.
What’s something that always makes you smile?
Something that makes me smile and I want to get a daily dose of it, is my two grandsons, Wyatt and Parker, as well as my bonus grandson Hudson.
What was your first job?
My first job other than babysitting, was working as a waitress at a Bed and Breakfast in Cape May, N.J.
What’s a favorite quote or saying that inspires you?
Give them roots, give them wings and they'll grow up to do great things.
What’s your go-to karaoke song or favorite type of music?
Contemporary Christian music. I love hearing inspirational songs.
